Alumni Maddy Institute: Alumni Testimonial

Sacramento, California n August 12, 2024, I received a message in the morning via email asking if I would be interested in giving a testimonial of my experience as an intern for the Digital & Communications Department of the Governor of California, Gavin Newsom, also including my support from the Maddy Institute Legislative Intern Scholar Program for the Alumni Maddy Institute Event at the California Museum in Sacramento. In reply to the email, I said I would be honored. Later that evening, I had the privilege to step on stage and speak about my enjoyment as an intern and the gratitude The Maddy Legislative Internship Program provided me. Stepping on stage was nerve-wracking as I spoke in front of the crowd towards alumni, current interns, California's State Legislators, and many individuals including my mom (who took the first photo). After my testimonial, so many people applauded and came up to me giving compliments and their cards. I am truly grateful for this program and the individuals who made it happen.

The Maddy Legislative Internship Program is an excellent opportunity for college students from the San Joaquin Valley to participate in a semester-long internship at the local, state, or federal government.
